I, Being Born a Woman

I, being born a woman and distressed
By all the needs and notions of my kind,
Am urged by your propinquity to find
Your person fair, and feel a certain zest
To bear your body’s weight upon my breast:
So subtly is the fume of life designed,
To clarify the pulse and cloud the mind,
And leave me once again undone, possessed.
Think not for this, however, the poor treason
Of my stout blood against my staggering brain,
I shall remember you with love, or season
My scorn with pity,- let me make it plain:
I find this frenzy insufficient reason
For conversation when we meet again.

My sister is a talented knitter. She made these mittens for the same auction I’m participating in.

What can I say, Hanna brightens any room she enters and I love working with her. All of her fiber art is amazing and she can knit crazy fast… I need to take lessons!

Yesterday the guys from Never Press and Giant Robot put together a Risograph workshop at GR2. Being that I’m 10 minutes away from GR2, I had to go and I’m very glad I did. Not only did I get to catch up with some great friends, I got to make 20 Riso prints (Hurrah!) Anyway, I know very little about Risography, except that it’s cool as hell. If you ever get the chance, I suggest you try it. Also, if you get the chance, check out Never Press and look at all the cool stuff they make.

The top two images are two of my prints on yellow and peach paper.
